NFDI4Health congratulates Prof. Dr. Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider on her appointment as Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information. Her core objectives – the protection of sensitive health data through high standards, the promotion of research and innovation, and the meaningful integration of data protection and digitalisation through constructive dialogue – are welcomed by NFDI4Health.
The annual conference of the European Federation for Medical Informatics (EFMI), the Medical Informatics Europe conference (MIE), took place from 25 to 29 August in Athens. NFDI4Health contributed two workshops to the event.
NFDI4Health and GHGA are collaborating to advance biomedical and genomic research. They aim to simplify the exchange of health data by developing common standards for technology, law, and ethics. The goals of this collaboration have now been formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding.
Timm Intemann from NFDI4Health participated in the Leibniz Association's science quiz. The format "Ten Questions, One Expert" makes research understandable and accessible. In the current edition, "What Do You Know About Health Data?" Intemann highlights the significance and application of health information.
New and improved search and filter functions are now available on the German Central Health Study Hub to enhance the efficiency and user-friendliness of finding clinical, epidemiological, and public health research data.
The European Association for Health Information and Libraries (EAHIL) convened from 11 to 14 June 2024 at the National Library of Latvia in Riga. The conference focused on libraries' adaptability to ongoing changes and effective research data management in healthcare.
The Research Data Day took place on 18 June 2024 in Bremen and was organised by the U Bremen Research Alliance. The event served as a platform for intensive exchange on handling research data. NFDI4Health attended the event and presented its concepts for a FAIR landscape for health data.
