NFDI4Health at the DataSHIELD conference in Groningen

The DataSHIELD conference will take place from in Groningen from 11 to 13 October 2023. DataSHIELD is an open-source software for secure analysis of biomedical and health science data. At the conference, developers, users and interested parties will meet to discuss the status quo and new potential applications of the software.

NFDI4Health nahm mit etwa 15 Mitgliedern an der Jahrestagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Medizinische Informatik, Biometrie und Epidemiologie (GMDS) teil. Zum 68. Mal tage die Fachgesellschaft mit rund 800 Besucher:innen vom 17. bis 21. September 2023 in Heilbronn. Die Fachtagung bot eine Austauschplattform für Forschende aus medizin-informatischen, biometrischen und epidemiologischen Fachbereichen. Das Programm reichte von medizinischen Fortbildungen über eine Summer School für Nachwuchsforschende bis hin zu interdisziplinären Fachvorträgen.

The conference of the German Society for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS) took place in Heilbronn from 17 to 21 September 2023. The symposium for digital health research was hosted under the motto "Science. Close to the people" and attracted 800 participants from various scientific disciplines. Members of the NFDI4Health consortium attended the conference to present their strategy for a FAIR data infrastructure in health research to a broad audience.

"Connecting Communities" was the motto of the 1st Conference on Research Data Infrastructure (CoRDI) from 12 to 14 September 2023 in Karlsruhe. The National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) association invited national and international stakeholders to introduce their projects for excellent research data management. NFDI4Health presented an innovative concept for a sustainable and FAIR data infrastructure in health research.

NFDI4Health at the German Congress for Health Services Research

Events 02 October 2023

The 22nd German Congress for Health Services Research will take place under the motto "Health-related health services research - engine of evidence-based health policy" from 4 to 6 October 2023 in Berlin. NFDI4Health is organizing the symposium "Participatory research and citizen science: NFDI4Health projects introduce themselves" on 4 October 2023 from 16:45 to 18:15.

White Paper: Improving record linkage for health research in Germany

In Germany, it is currently difficult to link health data from different sources. This impairs the quality of healthcare - especially in comparison with neighboring European countries. A new white paper identifies weaknesses and points to possible solutions.

Health Data Use Act (GDNG)

On 30 August 2023 a draft for the Health Data Use Act (GDNG) was published. The Health Data Use Act aims to improve access to qualitative and representative health data so that they can be used promptly for care, public health, research and innovation and for the further development of the health system - in compliance with data protection requirements. This Act also takes the first steps to prepare the German health system for integration into a European health system within the framework of the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
