The workshop “Trusted Research Environment (TRE) / Secure Processing Environment (SPE) Perspectives Across Data Holders, Tech Enablers, and Research Data Users” will take place from 19 to 20 August 2025 at the TMF offices in Berlin and online. It addresses the different perspectives of data holders, technology providers, and research users in the management of secure research data environments. 

The Post-COVID Challenge, initiated by Germany’s Federal Ministries of the Interior and for Economic Affairs, is accelerating the use of health data. The winning project, Datennexus, is a proposal developed by a consortium led by European consultancy firm d-fine. NFDI4Health contributes a comprehensive data catalogue, facilitating efficient data discovery.

The webinar series Meet-the-Data@Health Research by NFDI4Health & BIH QUEST presents valuable datasets from leading research institutes across various fields of health sciences.

The third Research Data Day took place in Bremen on 11 June 2025 – an event designed to promote exchange on current developments in research data management. Organised by the U Bremen Research Alliance, the day was held under the motto “FAIR Future Skills” and attracted around 200 students and researchers. NFDI4Health contributed with several presentations.

The DFG is currently preparing a funding call for data repositories in the context of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). The background to this is the increasing demand for storage capacity for research data, which cannot be met everywhere by local infrastructures. Through this survey, NFDI4Health aims to assess the demand and requirements for data storage capacity, with a particular focus on clinical, epidemiological, and public health study data.
