NFDI4Health and NFDI
NFDI4Health is part of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) and works together with the 26 other subject-specific consortia towards a shared vision. In regular meetings and workshops, interfaces between NFDI4Health and other consortia are identified, interdisciplinary exchange is promoted, and synergies are created. In terms of content, NFDI4Health collaborates with other consortia in areas such as data management, infrastructure development, and standards for data integration. This cooperation enables the improvement of data quality, accessibility, and interoperability across disciplines, driving innovation in research. NFDI4Health actively fosters the growth of a unified "One NFDI" and a cultural shift towards FAIR data.

The BioMed Interest Group
Biomedical research rarely falls neatly into a single discipline and often generates diverse, interconnected data types, such as omics, imaging, immunological, microbiological, epidemiological, and public health data. Managing this data requires coordinated approaches to ensure FAIR-compliant and secure data exchange. This is particularly important for sensitive genomic and health data. Since these contain personal and potentially identifying information, robust protection, regulatory compliance, and ethical governance are required. The NFDI BioMed Interest Group supports the biomedical research community by harmonizing standards, metadata, and security concepts across domains. While users collaborate with individual consortia to access domain-specific services and tools, the collaboration among NFDI consortia provides guidance, training, and support. This makes it easier to identify the right consortia for each data type and manage complex projects without compromising data protection or interoperability.
In addition to NFDI4Health, the Biomed Group includes the following consortia, which offer related services:
NFDI4BIOIMAGE supports bioimage data management through open formats, flexible infrastructure and everyday data stewardship support.
NFDI4Microbiota NFDI4Microbiota supports the microbiology community with access to data, analysis services, data/metadata standards, and training.
NFDI4Immuno NFDI4Immuno provides a comprehensive data hub for immunology-related data with a focus on flow cytometry and adaptive immune receptor repertoire (AIRR)-seq data.
GHGA GHGA provides a secure and privacy-compliant infrastructure for human genomic and omics data, supporting FAIR data management and responsible sharing.
