For the 2nd time, stakeholders from the research data management sector gathered at the Research Data Day in Bremen. On 18 June 2024, the U Bremen Research Alliance invited to discuss the importance of data structures in research through presentations and interactive formats.

NFDI4Health, along with other consortia, presented itself in an NFDI-information booth. The NFDI association builds the umbrella for establishing sustainable data infrastructures across various research domains. Based on the FAIR principles, concepts and services are developed to enable researchers to systematically find, use, and integrate data. Out of a total of 26 consortia, 9 consortia have participation from Bremen.

In a presentation on record linkage, Timm Intemann from NFDI4Health, explained the significance of linking health data to address unresolved scientific questions. He highlighted current legal barriers, discussed solutions, and provided insights into various use cases.

The day concluded with an evening event at the House of Science. Iris Pigeot, co-spokesperson of NFDI4Health, discussed responsible data management and its societal impacts with York Sure-Vetter, Sophia Hunger, and Klaus Tochtermann. The experts emphasized that high-quality data and data literacy are essential to make progress and minimize the spread of misinformation.

The event brought stakeholders in research data management closer together and strengthened common goals. To be continued in 2025!
